About Us

Welcoming Guests for Over 20 Years

Garden by the Sea is classic Caribbean bed and breakfast hotel: Bright, colorful walls adorned with local art, gingerbread trim, lush gardens with coconut and banana trees, plus an abundance of Caribbean wildlife.

We are located in the heart of Estate Contant and Enighed, a quaint neighborhood within walking distance of Cruz Bay and 1 ½ blocks from Frank Bay Beach. No rental car is needed to enjoy our B&B, beaches, or town. During your stay, be sure to  take a moment to catch the sun setting over the Salt Pond Bird Sanctuary with St. Thomas in the background from our beautiful wrap around terrace.

Each morning, you will be served a delicious homemade breakfast on our tropically shaded veranda where you will be delighted by lively birds and geckos frolicking among the banana and almond trees.

Garden by the Sea is the perfect place for honeymooners, nature lovers, or those people who just simply need the perfect getaway.

You Will Stay at Our Bed and Breakfast Again and Again

Like many others, most of the guests at our bed and breakfast are not first-timers. There are countless reasons visitors come back to our St. John hotel, be it our exemplary service, savory breakfasts, expansive views, or our outdoor, private showers. Stay with us once and you'll soon be dreaming of Garden by the Sea, your St. John home away from home.

Sustainability and the Environment

Garden by the Sea Is a Green B&B

It's not just our foliage that is green. Garden by the Sea has installed over 70 solar panels on the roof for power and hot water. Any excess power generated and not used is fed back to the island's utility company. We also catch rain water from the roof, store it in a cistern below ground, use a three-stage ultra violet purification system, and use it for showering and drinking. These are just a few things we do to make sure we keep and maintain our environment lush and beautiful.

We are also a certified wildlife habitat situated within an Autobahn…another reason why we try  to be as environmentally conscious as we can!
