Our stay at Garden by the Sea in November '05 was simply fabulous! The Terrace Room was lovely - quiet, private, and comfortable. The breakfasts (especially the muffins made from scratch) were delicious and Nancy and John were wonderful hosts - willing to go the extra mile to help make our vacation one of the best ever. We will definitely be back soon, and would recommend Garden by the Sea to anyone.

We had an amazing (and long over due) honeymoon at GBTS!! We couldn't have wanted anything more than what we got. The house is beautiful and the rooms were spotless!! We absolutely loved our outside Garden Suite shower and now complain everytime we have to take a shower in our bathroom! :) The breakfasts were out of this world, and I hope I can come close to making them like John and Nancy! We loved every beach we went to, and we loved all the restaurants! Thanks so much for your hospitality, we will defiantely be back!

We had a PERFECT honeymoon at Garden by the Sea. We stayed for 8 days and loved every minute of it!! Nancy and John are wonderful people and cooks (the breakfasts are amazing)!!!! We loved our daily schedule--breakfast, beach, nap, dinner! We are so happy we chose to stay here. Everything not only stood up to our expectations, but surpassed them greatly! All the rooms are great, but we loved the view from the Terrace Room!
If you are debating where to stay--GBTS is the right choice! It's a great location, great food and quaint....everything was so relaxing! We rented a jeep, and it was the perfect decision. You don't even have to do any excursions, b/c you can get everywhere by jeep.
Thank you Nancy and John for helping make our (delayed!) honeymoon so wonderful...and of course....thank you for helping us decide where to get dessert each night!!! We hope to be back soon!

Our honeymoon stay at Garden By The Sea was wonderful. Nancy and John were so friendly and did everything possible to make our stay perfect. The room was wonderful and the garden shower was splendid. I loved taking a shower at night to hear the tree frogs sing. Thank you so much for making our stay on St. John as perfect as perfect could be. We can't wait to come back again!

It is so hard to be home considering how spoiled we were during our recent visit to St John. Our 8 day stay at Garden By The sea was even better than we had hoped, the garden shower was heavenly, the Wild Ginger Room beautiful, and John and Nancy could not have been more delightful or helpful. The delicious breakfasts in the morning had us jumpimg out of bed, and the house felt like our own. At this moment I am wearing my Garden By The Sea bathrobe and dreaming of the pina colada french toast and the Bushwackers at Woodys. (Dont miss the day sail with Capt Doug on the Gypsy Spirit and the fun bars in Jost Van Dyke!) We had a blast and will be back. Our best vacation ever, and the picturesque island of St John was reflected in Garden by The Sea by the local artwork and the attention to detail, right down to the fresh flowers on the bed and the orchids on the table. Thanks for making our vaction unforgetable! Beth and James from the Outer Banks Thumbs Up

Awesome, awesome, awesome. We visistd St. John for a long weekend to celebrate our 1st anniversary and couldn't have been more pleased. Suite/bathroom were perfect (can't imagine anything better) and breakfasts were wonderfull (only needed a snack for lunch). Certainly NOT the impersonal feel that you're sure to get from ANY hotel. Nancy and John were (are Smile ) extremely friendly and were very helpful with suggestions of things to do on the island (we had the outline, they helped provide some details... we really enjoyed the snorkeling in salt pond bay).

I can't remembere how many times my wife or I commented about how we DEFINITELY made the right lodging decision.

Thank you (Nancy and John) for everything!

Michael and MaryAnn,
Thank you for your hospitality and beautiful B&B. The trip home was as good as it gets - uneventful. Judy was waiting at dock side for my ferry having once again supported the local merchants on St Thomas. We have gifts for everyone we know and others should they make a complimentary remark about our winter sun tans.

Back home, a few hundred e-mails later, I am ready to take on more incoming.
As predicted, the world's Air Force did not shut down in our absence - but better safe. Yesterday and today were 2 coffee pot mornings....computer mouse and fingers were humming, but it felt good to be "caught-up" and well worth the island escape. We were extremely pleased with your no phone, TV, and "this is your get-away" policy ........

You will be happy to know that we have fresh snow on the ground and expecting more tomorrow and again late in the week .......please do not be too jealous!

I am going to suggest to Judy we recommend to Laurie, one of our twins, to stop and say hello should she and Taylor spend a day on St John at the end of March.

We already miss the Bananaquit birds, gourmet breakfasts, warm sea breezes, and laid back lifestyle!
We will think of St. John often and remember our wonderful stay at Garden-By-The-Sea!

Take Care!
Sincerely, Judy and Marc

We really enjoyed staying at Garden by the Sea. We were in walking distance of downtown (Cruz Bay) which was very convenient for dinner and drinks. The room was great- very clean with an incredible bathroom (the garden shower), and we also enjoyed the community room which felt like being at home. Breakfast was delicious and different every day. We especially enjoyed meeting Maryann and Michael. This is definitely one of the best B&B's we've ever seen.

Hello from Wisconsin!

Just checking ahead for availability for next winter. Even though it's 80 degrees here we still dream of St. John and your wonderful breakfasts! I also wonder if the newlyweds we met are enjoying parenthood?

Garden by the Sea was a perfect choice of accommodation. Immaculately clean and Caribbean brightly decorated especially the bathroom with the garden shower, wonderful coffee and hot breakfast. Close enough to walk to town, but secluded enough to have peace and quiet. Both hosts and other guests were very friendly and informative. I think Mike and Maryann have tried to anticipate every need. If I get another chance to visit St. John, I will call Garden by the Sea first.

Garden by the Sea is the perfect place to stay in St. John; the location, charm, and sheer beauty all add up to a wonderful and relaxing vacation! We loved the mosquito nets over the beds and gorgeous views. The breakfasts were amazing! We would definitely return.

We had a lovely vacation on St. John. Our room was clean and attractive and the garden shower was especially nice. A hot breakfast every morning was a good way to start each day. Close proximity to town and related activites was wonderful. We enjoyed the company of some of the other interesting and fun guests.
Thank you.

Our week's stay in February was just perfect at this wonderful B&B. Mike and Maryann were gracious hosts and very knowledgeable about the island. Our room was very comfortable and the picture of cleanliness. After many trips to the Carribbean, St. John is our favorite. Beautiful beaches and friendly people.
